Biography: Truex performed Shakespeare as a small child and was at one time dubbed "The Youngest Hamlet" by promoters. After his father's death, Truex and his mother toured with a troupe of child performers on the vaudeville circuit. Truex performed on Broadway in 1908 opposite Lillian Russell and went on to perform with Mary Pickford in "A Good Little Devil"in 1913. That same year he made his first film opposite Pickford in "Caprice". Truex had a successful career during the 1930's and moved easily into talking films. He reached out to the television medium in the post war years.
