Biography: Born in Grand Island, Nebraska, Henry Fonda started his acting debut with the Omaha Community Playhouse. He moved to the Cape Cod University Players and later Broadway, New York from 1926 to 1934. He starred in the play "The Farmer Takes a Wife" which was remade into a feature film, starting Henry's Hollywood career. He appearing in The Grapes of Wrath in 1940, which he received an Academy Award Nomination. He finally received an Academy Award for his work in "On Golden Pond" with Katharine Hepburn and his daughter Jane Fonda. At 76, he was the oldest person to win a best actor Oscar.
