Calvary/Home of Peace
Since 1866, Calvary Cemetery has been the earliest Catholic cemetery in Los Angeles. moved from it's origianl location in 1925, the new Calvary cemetery offers a site of the earliest Hollywood movie stars. Just across the street, Home of Peace, opened in 1955 offered the large Jewish population and the founders of the Hollywood movie studios an eternal resting place.
Celebrity grave sights include: John, Ethel & Lionel Barrymore, Lou Costello, Mabel Normand, Ramon Navarro, Irene Dunne, Curly Howard, Shemp Howard, The Warner Brothers, Universal studios founder Carl Laemmle and Louis B. Mayer.
